The editorial standard

Make the evidence
easy to inspect.

A good explanation should be understandable without asking a reader to accept its authority on faith. We link the records behind factual claims and explain what those records can establish.

Use the closest available source

For a published proposal, link the proposal. For a protocol rule, link implementation code or technical documentation. For a court finding, link the judgment. Archival copies of original documents are labeled with their author and date.

A primary source is not automatically impartial or correct. A company’s preliminary estimate is identified as an estimate; a first-person memory is attributed to its author. An official prosecution statement is not treated as a neutral account of every disputed issue.

Be precise about uncertainty

We separate recorded events from interpretation, and avoid unsupported claims about motives or identities. “First documented” does not establish that no earlier private event occurred. A proposed design is not proof that it was deployed.

Calendar dates are shown in the relevant historical context. Block-header dates use UTC and are described as recorded timestamps. Future block dates are estimates. Code references are pinned to a version when explaining a precise rule.

Keep corrections visible

Substantive corrections appear in an article’s revision note. Publication dates are preserved; updated dates indicate a later content revision. Sources may themselves be revised or disappear, so a reference list is not a promise that every external page will remain unchanged.

Report a correction with the article, the claim at issue, and a supporting source if possible. We do not describe the archive as error-free or independently certified.

Be honest about authorship and tools

“Bitcoin Tribute” is a publication byline. AI and other software tools assist with research and writing. We do not claim a named expert review or a human fact-checking process that has not taken place. Readers can inspect the linked sources and revision notes.

Keep education separate from promotion

The site explains historical events and technical mechanisms. It does not provide personalized investment, legal, or tax advice, price predictions, or recommendations to buy a financial product. Product approval by a regulator is not presented as an endorsement of the underlying asset.

No advertiser or sponsor is presented as a source of editorial authority. The current site does not include advertising scripts or paid placements.
